ALLEN R. JAMES

Al's interests are sports.  He is a member of the track team and the referees club.  Next year he hopes to gather more knowledge at UBC.

Al attended UBC, taught in Chilliwack where he spent all but one year of his 38 year career.  He received a BEd from UBC and an MA(Ed) from SFU.  Al married Irene Monson and has 4 children and 5 grandchildren.

He raises 23,000 broilers every 8 weeks and has given time to the BC Poultry Association and the BC Agriculture Council. Al & Irene enjoy cruising.

ANNEMARIE HAWKES ANDERSON

Came to Kits in Grade 10 from England, plans to travel, have a handsome boss and become an airline stewardess

AnneMarie attended business school which has helped immensely with the mechanical consulting business she and her husband, Ernie set up.  She is an animal lover and has several dogs.  Anne Marie has travelled to England, Europe, Mexico & Brazil.  She currently lives in the interior on the Fraser River with orchards and an English garden.Annemarie regrets she ccouldn't attend the 50th

BEVERLEY J. CUSHMAN LAWSON

Bev is active as a cheerleader.  She is Exchange Editor on the KHS Life.   She plans to study commercial art in California

 

Beverley graduated from UBC and taught both elementary and secondary school for 18 years. She married senator Edward Lawson and lives part time in Vancouver and in LaQuinta, California.  Bev has been very active in charity work - Variety, The Children's Charity and others.  In retirement they enjoy golfing, cruising, walking, reading, "keeping in the know".

ROBERT D.C. MALCOLM

A championship senior footballer and triple threat man scholastically.  He contributes as a prefect and KHS Life member   He plans to attend UBC and study either engineering or commerce.

Bob attended UBC - Delta Upsilan Frat. He and Rick Glazier travelled Europe in the late 60s and even ran into Terry Stewart and Mike Young while there. Bob became a lawyer in 1968 and thereafter practiced law, built a golf course with others and enjoyed life. He married Susan Altman and has 6 kids and 5 grandkids.

Although Bob still lives in the greater Vancouver area, he holidays in Buncerias, Mexico every chance he gets. Bob attended the 50th and 55th.

ROBERT J. WALDRON

An ardent skier, musician, humourist who is on the Decorations and Social Activities committee and in the Music Club. 

 

Bob is on the Kits60 Reunion Committee.

He completed his PHD in Engineering and went on to form a Company which investigates aircraft accidents on a world wide basis. The Company still exists but he is now retired and living most of the time in North Van. He has a second house on a small island on the Sunshine coast and spends  time up there as well as skiing, playing squash, golf, travelling and generally trying to stay fit.  Bob attended the 50th !

BRUCE D. MacARTHUR

The athletic rep of 12A, participating on the football, basketball and track teams plans to join Vancouver Police Department.

Bruce attended the 45th reunion cocktail party, Sept 2005. Bruce worked for B.C. Tel for 28 years.  He continues to be involved in rugby, jogging, etc. and has coached his 2 daughters sports teams 

CAROL V. KEMP MCDONALD

A member of the Haida Staff and Bursary Committee and planning to become a secretary to a handsome boss.

CRAIG K. NAYLOR 

Craig is a Prefect, a member of the Stage Crew and the Social Activities Committee.   He plans to attend UBC and become a dentist.   His pet peeve: Girls?

DARLENE LOHN SPEVAKOW

Darlene is a Kits social whirler and will whirl her way to UBC,  She hopes to become an airline stewardess.

DAVID W. LEA

Dave is a member of the baseball and rugger teams.  He is also a member of the     Fore Gone Conclusions boys quartet

 

Dave spent 5 years (1964-69) at Central Washington State U on a baseball scholarship, returned to join the Vancouver Police Dept stayed for 30 yrs.  Since retiring, he has became a consultant to a BC based Casino company, which then morphed into his own Security/Surveillance software development company. This has him travelling several times a year to Las Vegas and Palm Springs, he combines golf into his business trips.  Dave has 2 wonderful children in their 20's.  He says "life is a holiday".

DAVID J. WHITEHEAD

"Commander Whitehead" known to cheer wildly at B.C. Lions' games.  Vice-President of the Photography Club and a keen bowler.

Now known as "Whitey", retired since 2004 after 30 years working as a manufacturers agent in the hardware and plumbing industries. Current interests are travel, yoga, walking, biking and golf. Married with 3 kids and 2 grandkids.    Dave attended the 50th !

DIANE M. MAHE KNAPP

Diane spends time as Secretary of the Student Council.  She plans to enter business college and become a private secretary

Diane lived in New York for a time and is now retired and enjoying life in Southern Florida.   She planned to attend the 50th reunion but she was unable to. Latest info is she's moved back to Manhattan.

DONALD N. VANCE

Skilled in football, participates in the Boy's Quartet and is on the Homecoming and Refreshment Committees. He plans to attend UBC.

 

Don is on the reunion committee and has attended most of the reunions.  He is married to Joy and has two daughters, Laura and Cindy.

DONNA C. WOOD JOHNSON

Donna is chairman of Classics at Noon and secretary of the Music Committee as well as singing with the Gradettes.  She is an ardent curler.  She plans a future as a stenographer and in singing.

Donna is married to Harry and lives on the sunshine coast.  She was self-employed in advertising but is now retired.   She has a daugher, Marcia and a grandson, Jamieson.  She enjoys golfing.

DOREEN I. KISSACK HAZELL

Dodie is active on the Life, Haida and Social Committees as well as presiding over Sigma Gamma meetings and attending Jobs Daughters.  She plans to see some of the world and start with Hawaii.

 

Doreen joined CP Air and retired after 34 years and spending time in SE Asia as country manager of Thailand, Malaysia & Singapore.  She has a daughter, Laura and a son, Dave as well as 3 grandsons.

Retirement has allowed her the time to golf, swim, dragonboat, run SunRuns, volunteer at the RGH Ladies Auxiliary (Thrift Shop) and the ANAF Unit 284. But more recently, simply golf, suduku and travel. Life is good!

 EBBA RASMUSSEN GREY

Ebba is an enthusiastic member of the school pyramid and track teams. She serves on the House Cabinet as Girls' Athletic Director of West House.

 

Worked as legal secretary at Harper Grey till 1980, then married Harvey Grey. Took up golf, volunteered in politics in Van Centre, then went back to work in 1993 as legal secretary till 2006, then worked for the Kollel with 4 rabbis, and finally as Registrar for Camp Hatikvah till 2012. Harvey died 2013 and Ebba keeps busy busy busy with volunteering now, singing in a choir, some golf, and bit of bicycling…Ebba is on the Kits60 Reumion Committee. Ebba was at the 50th !

ELIZABETH QUILLIAM NICHOLS

Red Cross Rep of 12A, honour student and publisher of the Haida !  Elizabeth swims at the "Y" and on the Kits Swim Team.  She is active in the Welcome Committee, Future Nurses and Sea Rangers.

ERNEST A. DENNEY

Active in football, baseball, track and many school organizations.  His ambition is to study chartered accounting at University.

 

Ernie now lives in Washington state and was at the 50th Reunion

FREDERICK R. DALGLEISH

A member of the senior choir, active in Hi-C, Y.M.C.A., hockey, baseball and bowling.  His future plans include resting and recuperating after grad

  

 

Fred Dalgleish, CA, CPA, MBA

Fred got his CA degree in 1968 and his MBA in '77. After a few years in industry, he opened his own practice in Vancouver, specializing in the music and entertainment industry. Fred's office saw many of Vancouver's great music talents and he was instrumental in opening 3 major recording studios during the music boom of the 70's and 80's. Fred's second marriage started in '89 after meeting his wife in Brazil. He moved to Kelowna and began developing computer software as well as continuing to advise many Vancouver clients. Fred has one son, one daughter and one grandson.  

W. GAIL STEVENSON

The cute active member of the social committee and social service committee. Gail was the chairperson of publicity for the mother & daughter reception.

She enjoys curling and skating. Gail plans to attend UBC.

Gail retired in 2004 after a fulfilling 25 year career as an RN obstetrical nurse, working in Ont., N.S. and B.C. , retiring from Kelowna General Hospital. She has been  married to Peter, a retired teacher at UBC Okanagan, for 45 years. They have three children and three  grandchildren who live nearby and are "hands on" grandparents. Travel, bridge, x-country skiing, and enjoying the "4-season" playground keeps Gail active. My  memories include the numerous fellow Kits grads who came from Henry Hudson Elementary. We will be travelling to N.S. in September 2010 so send best wishes to everyone for an enjoyable reunion

GAY VALERIE WILSON

Gay wants an elevator to her 3rd floor classroom. She plans to become an airline hostess.

GEORGE WOOL

One of our championship senior footballers, also on the basketball and baseball teams. Girls are his favorite. George plans to join the R.C.M.P.

 

GERALDINE N. BLACKWOOD

12D's Vice President plans to visit Hawaii before settling down to become a private secretary.  Geri is the fashion reporter for K.H.S. Life and a member of Sigma Gamma.

Geri lives on Bowen Island part of the year and in Mexico in winter.  Geri was at the 50th.

GERALD P. CAHILL

Gerry, known as "Snail" is the boy's athletic rep of East.He participates in rugby, baseball and likes football and weightlifting.

Pet Peeve - Going stag to mixed parties.

GERALD S. MOORES

A member of the B.C. Regiment, he is interested in hunting, competition shooting and auto mechanics. He belongs to the Capilano Rod & Gun Club.  He plans to join the R.C.M.P.

IAN G.L. WAYMARK

"Wee Will" is president of the Geography and Printing Clubs and is involved in scouting.  Ian plans to become a technical engineer.

 

Ian's busy life has included a lot of travelling, along with a teacher's degree in the late-60s. He taught in Abbotsford until 1990 when he moved to the Gulf Islands. He and his wife, Paddy, love boating and are frequently seen cruising the Islands in their unique 28' trawler. Ian has 2 children and proudly holds the title of Commodore of the Silva Bay Yacht Club.

JEAN ELLEN SHERMAN
